Tagged – Short Film – Winner Boulder Shootout 2009
Description
Two years ago, I was approached by my talented friend and colleague Eric Klassen about being on a team for the 24 film festival in Boulder, Colorado called the Boulder Shootout. It’s an interesting competition in that you only have 24 hours to create and finish a film, with the showing being the next night.
I agreed to play the lead character of Paul who is a young man hiding from the pain caused by the loss of his family in a devastating house fire.
We assembled the team and started shooting. One sleepless night and one tape later, we submitted the film to the committee. Later that evening, we sat down in the back of the dark Boulder Theatre and waited as the top 10 films of the festival began playing. Our short film “Tagged” ended up playing as one of the Top 10 where we won Best Cinematography and I won Best Actor for my role as Paul.
It was a wonderful experience and it was great to work with such a talented team.
While I won’t do the Boulder Shootout ever again, I will carry the experience and memories with me forever.
